Good Faith Estimate Notice
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.
Under the law, all health care providers, including Counseling Associates of Central Iowa, PC, need to give patients who do not have insurance and patients who choose to not use their insurance an estimate of the expected charges for their medical services, which includes psychotherapy services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency health care service, which includes psychotherapy services.
You can ask your health care provider for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, please visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
COVID-19 Update
Our office has made changes to safely accommodate in-person appointments. Several insurance companies are still authorizing telehealth appointments while others will be ending or have ended coverage and are covering in-person appointments only. Please call your insurance company to have them explain how they currently and will be processing telehealth claims per your policy. If your insurance company is no longer paying for telehealth or you prefer to do in-person appointments, please call our office. Thank you.
